Gun Sense Chester County (formerly The Chester County Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence) is offering a “public invited workshop” for anyone interested in learning techniques for building thoughtful discussion on issues related to gun violence prevention.
The workshop is called “Building Bridges.” It’s designed to teach skills and approaches that can help foster conversations that avoid unproductive name calling, stereotyping and verbal “bomb throwing” to instead build understanding of diverse perspectives.
“We are not all going to agree on every issue surrounding gun violence and effective prevention methods,” says Ann Cummings, Chairperson of Gun Sense Chester County. “If our communities are to find a productive way forward, we have to be able to listen to each other and find common ground.”
The event will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, May 2nd at 7:15 PM. The church is located at 10 West Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester. The workshop is free and open to the public. No reservations are required. Following a brief presentation, Gun Sense coaches will facilitate small group discussions, giving participants a chance to practice the content and approaches presented.
“The issue of gun violence affects everyone in our society,” Cummings says. “We want to talk to all citizens, gun owners and non-gun owners alike, about ways to protect all of our freedoms and promote gun safety for individuals and our communities. These are not easy conversations, but they are important ones.”

Oh wow, a moment of epiphany. TCCCtPGV realized in a moment of drug-free inspiration that they couldn’t prevent gun violence so they changed their name. All without a word of their previous name and agenda both being completely ineffective. One might say they were just shooting blanks. I’m sure the thugs that inhabit Chester County’s only city will sleep easier knowing that some liberal bleeding-heart do-gooder volunteer organization isn’t going to take away the instruments of their power to instill fear and terror. Hey GunSense, how about you team up with Coatesville Police and do another amnesty gun buy. You go, GunSense!
