Caln hosting weekend full of family-friendly fun

Annual Community Day, rescheduled summer concert will provide diverse entertainment

Moon bounces are always a big hit with children at Caln Community Day.

Caln Township is offering a weekend that’s jam-packed with music and activities.

On Saturday, the township will celebrate its annual Caln Community Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  at Municipal Park and Municipal Drive in Thorndale. Attractions will include music by the “Moon Dawgs,”  a magic show, a karate demo by Chester County Martial Arts, food, face painting, moon bounces, pony rides, and a petting zoo.

Emergency equipment will be on display at Caln Community Day.

On Sunday at 6 p.m., the township building will provide the venue for “74-75,“ a rock and blues band. The group was part of the lineup for the Summer Concert Series sponsored by TD Bank; however, two concerts had to be  rescheduled due to uncooperative weather. Residents are asked to bring a chair or blanket for sitting; refreshments will be available for purchase.

The second rescheduled concert  – “The Lukens Band” – will be held Sept. 23, also at 6 p.m. at the township building.
