WEST BRANDYWINE – The township’s Board of Supervisors announced at their regularly scheduled meeting Thursday evening that they are seeking volunteers to fill several vacancies within the township.

Presently, the board is seeking two volunteers to serve on the Parks and Recreation Board and one volunteer to serve on the Historic Commission.  A vacancy for the position of Emergency Management Coordinator was filled when the board unanimously voted to appoint Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator Doug Smith.  Smith had sent the board a letter of interest regarding the position; board supervisor Josef G. Obernier Sr. felt Smith’s credentials and previous experience as deputy made him a perfect candidate for the position.

“He’d be an ideal person to have in this position,” said Obernier.

Smith’s current position as Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator will now be vacant.  The board is seeking a volunteer to fill this position.

Other business included the review of a revised 2012 budget as it pertains to the police department and the review and payment of municipal bills.

The West Brandywine Board of Supervisors will next convene for a regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 16 at 7:30 PM.
