Coatesville Youth Initiative’s Servicecorps looking for employers

Mena Badros, program coordinator for the Coatesville Youth Initiative’s ServiceCorps, is seeking employers who would like to benefit from some energetic summer workers.

The Coatesville Youth Initiative is preparing for its upcoming ServiceCorps program, where 40 youth ages 14 to 18 from the Coatesville Area School District will have an eight-week summer opportunity to gain work experience, serve their community, develop life and leadership skills, and earn income.

The program is currently seeking host sites in the greater Coatesville area, a chance for businesses gain energetic youthful workers for the summer at no cost while  playing a pivotal role in the development of the youth participants, by equipping them with work, life skills and knowledge, said Mena Badros, the program coordinator.

ServiceCorps begins Monday, June 24 and concludes Friday, Aug. 16. Students will be at their work sites Monday through Thursday and will convene at the Brandywine Center on Fridays for Leadership Development day.The Brandywine Health Foundation compensates the youth participants, so there is no employment cost to participate.
