 About 150 students recognized for wide range of achievements

The Coatesville Area Senior High 9/10 Center held an awards ceremony  last week to pay tribute to a host of student achievements, the school district said.

Nelson Negron was singled out as a Literacy Hero, and five students were applauded for their participation in the Delaware Valley Science Fair: Katherine Ernst, who won a first-place mathematics award and the Leonardo DaVinci Society Award; Ian Applebaum, who received honorable mention; Joshua Bream; Hunter Stiebritz; and Aimee Hawley.

The following students were honored for achieving distinguished Honor Roll status for one or more marking periods: Joseph Arvay, Michael Bilinski, Kayla Brown, Molly Clifford, Christina Collins, Kelly Conway, Bryce Coppadge, Madison Couch,  Colin Dunlap, Gregory Edwards, Katherine Ernst, Cameron Fluri, Lauren Fuller, Mylina Glasco, Danielle Gregor, Aimee Hawley, Rachel Helmbrecht, Jaren Henderson, Kathleen Idrovo, James Kauffman, Melissa Ling,  Theodore McCandless, Colin McClorie, Melissa McCormack, Haleigh Miller, Jessica Moore, Meghan Moscarelli, Tyler Needham, Jorge Olvera Jaurez, Andrew Patterson, Helen Phan, Jamie Quigley, Christopher Roy, Dekwuan Stokes, Ryleigh Stokes, Jessica Taylor, Sydney Tushar, Tyler Urban, Gabriela Valencia Pulgarin,  Daniel Voorhees,  Isaih Williams, and Jonathan Woodward.

Students of the month – an award  given to a worthy  ninth- or 10-grade student who, for that particular month, has excelled academically and exceeded expectations for attendance and good citizenship –   from September through April were also recognized: Steve Audette, Duane Bessick, Michael Bohm, Jessica Finley, Mylina Glasco, Rachel Helmbrecht, Christina Johnson, Darryll Johnson, Rajan Jones, Alison Kline, Paiza Lull, Namaluba Malawo, James Mickles, Michael Morris, Samantha Nask, Jordan Navarro, Cheyenne Offutt, Luis Reyes, Isaiah Robertson, Javon Sampson, Daniel Voorhees, Amanda Whitehead,  and Jenna Zubaly.
