The studio has announced the appointment of Terry Foreman as its new executive director, beginning Feb. 3.<\/p>\n<p>Foreman, a founding member and executive director of the Newark Arts Alliance in Newark, De.,\u00a0 will replace Lindsay Brinton, Art Partners\u2019 outgoing head, a news release said.<\/p>\n<p>Brinton, who said she had been contemplating retirement for a couple of years and working to facilitate a seamless transition, expressed gratitude for the past seven years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have had the distinct pleasure of working beside many partners who have shared our vision that ART deserves a permanent home in the city,&#8221; she said. &#8220;With their unstinting support and guidance, the reach of Studio programs is considerable. Today, they touch the lives of over 1,650 residents of all ages each year, not only in our art space, but also via a network of art classes, exhibitions, event activities, and art projects in neighborhoods across the city.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kirstin Wentz McElroy, the organization\u2019s board president, said she believed Foreman was the right choice to build on the solid foundation that Brinton created.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cTerry\u2019s enthusiasm for the studio\u2019s mission is combined with experience in nonprofit management, fund-raising, marketing, and program development,&#8221; said McElroy. &#8220;With Terry, and other partners across the city, we will work tirelessly to grow and sustain a dynamic visual arts education program for Coatesville\u2019s residents and artistic experiences that enrich the lives of our neighbors and the broader community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Foreman understands what it takes to \u201cstart\u201d something and to create an art presence on Main Street. Now in its 20<sup>th<\/sup> year, the c is a thriving community cultural center with two galleries and a busy teaching space open to the public six days a week. \u00a0She has worked as an arts advocate and arts program coordinator for over 20 years &#8211; most recently as an art teacher in an alternative education setting, Newark Center for Creative Learning School, the release said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her arts management experience, Foreman is a working studio artist, exhibiting her photography, fiber arts, mosaics and public murals throughout the region, the release said.<\/p>\n<p>Art Partners Studio is Coatesville\u2019s art studio &#8211; a place where artists of all ages, art making, and art are encouraged, supported, and honored. Studio programs partner artists with neighbors through classes, exhibitions, hands-on activities at city events, and community art projects.<\/p>\n<p>Established in 2006, the studio\u2019s overarching goal is to grow an arts resource in downtown Coatesville and simultaneously weave an art network in neighborhoods throughout the city and townships served by the Coatesville Area School District.
