The pipeline upgrades, with a combined cost of approximately $7.6 million, will replace aging water and sewer lines that date as far back as 1920s.<\/p>\n<p>According to Pennsylvania American Water\u2019s Coatesville Operations Superintendant James Gable, the largest project involves retiring and relocating aging sewer lines in Coatesville along Summer Street between Strode Avenue and Valley Road. Starting next week, crews will replace approximately 3,400 feet of outdated clay pipe with 30-inch and eight-inch PVC main to improve service reliability and to increase capacity for development in the western portion of the company\u2019s wastewater service area. Construction is expected to be completed by November, weather permitting.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The company also plans to install new sewer lines in Parkesburg near Church Street, starting next month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPennsylvania American Water is making these proactive investments to prevent emergency repairs, improve flows for fire protection and better serve the community,\u201d said Gable. \u201cThese projects will replace aging and undersized pipe, ensuring that our customers receive quality, reliable water and wastewater service for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Coatesville, crews will begin installation of approximately 4,700 feet of new 12-inch and eight-inch water lines along Oak Street between 1<sup>st<\/sup> Avenue and 4<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue, and between 4<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue and the company\u2019s water storage tank. Pennsylvania American Water also plans to replace aging water main along Buchanan Drive.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In South Coatesville, new water main installation is scheduled for the following streets:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Parkway Avenue<\/li>\n<li>Remington Avenue<\/li>\n<li>Lafayette Avenue<\/li>\n<li>Mont Clair Avenue<\/li>\n<li>Penn Avenue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Caln Township, crews will replace water main on the following streets:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>North Bailey Road<\/li>\n<li>Lynn Boulevard<\/li>\n<li>Marshall Circle<\/li>\n<li>G.O. Carlson Boulevard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Crews will work weekdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.\u00a0 Traffic disruptions in the work area are expected during construction hours. The company expects to complete the water main upgrades, including final paving restoration, by the end of December 2015, weather permitting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During construction, customers might experience temporary water service interruptions, discolored water and\/or lower than normal water pressure.
