Becky Corbin; Paul Hoffman, Pennsylvania American Water; David Bolig, PA Department of Environmental Protection; Chris Abruzzo, Pennsylvania American Water; Nicole Bell, Pennsylvania American Water; and Valley Township Manager Robert Glisson celebrte the award.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Pennsylvania American Water\u2019s Rock Run Water Treatment Plant hosted a recognition event last week\u00a0for plant personnel to receive the Phase III Directors Award from the Partnership for Safe Water. The Partnership is a voluntary utility program created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, American Water Works Association (AWWA) and other industry organizations focused on improving the quality and safety of water delivered to the customers of community water systems by optimizing operations. \u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Located in West Caln , the Pennsylvania American Water facility provides drinking water to approximately 12,000 customers in western Chester County and has been participating in the <em>Partnership<\/em> program since 2001.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Rock Run team worked very hard to earn the Directors Award, and this honor is a reflection of their expertise and dedication to provide our local customers with the highest possible water quality,\u201d said Robert Burton, senior director of operations for Pennsylvania American Water.<\/p>\n<p>Participating in today\u2019s recognition event at the Rock Run plant were officials from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and AWWA \u2013 Pennsylvania Section. In addition, Senator Andrew Dinniman\u2019s representative Christina Sappey presented a citation from the Pennsylvania State Senate recognizing the facility\u2019s employees for this achievement.<\/p>\n<p>The Phase III process involves adopting self-assessment methods to move forward on optimization of the treatment plant.
