Visitors will have an opportunity to exercise by strolling or biking along the newly-opened paved Riverwalk and then to continue their healthful lifestyles by purchasing fresh produce and specialty goods from a variety of area vendors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis past week, our third week, was our best yet,\u201d said Yvonne Post, the market\u2019s organizer. \u201cEvery one of our vendors sold out.\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Post, the co-founder of Cooking for Real, a company dedicated to cooking and nutrition education, said vendors will be well-stocked this coming Saturday.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1382\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1382\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1382 \" style=\"border: 2px solid black; margin: 4px;\" title=\"3\" src=\"http:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/3-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/3-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/3.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1382\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Residents were able to purchase a wide variety of produce and other products, such as these baked goods from the Wonderful Good Market at Stoudt\u2019s Brewery.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>So far, businesses have included Rex Farms Orchard, MacDougall\u2019s Irish Victory Cake, Jacob Beiler, and the Wonderful Good Market at Stoudt\u2019s Brewery.\u00a0 Hobo Ed\u2019s Raillyard Roastery is even offering Coatesville Community Coffee, a fund-raising effort to support the market that has proven to be popular, Post said. The market \u00a0also features booths from community partners, such as the Chester County Health Department and the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">\u00a0Post said some vendors will rotate in and out \u2013 for example, MacDougall\u2019s comes every other week. Priority is given to local vendors, she said, adding that the public can sign up to receive a weekly email that lists the week\u2019s offerings by contacting <a href=\"mailto:coatesvillefarmersmarket@gmail.com\">coatesvillefarmersmarket@gmail.com<\/a>. Post said a recent addition, Nomadic Pies, which features quiches, savory meat pies and fruit pies baked by a Coatesville woman, was a big hit, selling out in less than two hours.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1384\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1384\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1384 \" style=\"border: 2px solid black; margin: 4px;\" title=\"2\" src=\"http:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/2.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1384\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Henderson High School students Luke Griese Christian Yost and Owen Kerslake entertain attendees as the Brandywine River Boys.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Vendor Deborah Streeter-Davitt has been taking her business, MacDougall\u2019s Irish Victory Cake, to farmers markets for two and a half years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be at the farmers market; it\u2019s an awesome location, Coatesville,\u201d said Streeter-Davitt. \u201cWe give back to the community and the community gives back to us\u2026we\u2019re just so glad to be here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Post, efforts to start a farmers market in Coatesville began two years ago when Post combined efforts with the county\u2019s Health Department and brought the matter before city council.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s never been, that I know of, a farmers market that a county health department actually sponsored and funded and participated all along the way,\u201d said Post. \u201cMy first job was here in Coatesville and I fell in love with the community and thought we need to build things in this community,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Post plans to have the farmers market continue until October, although she is seeking an indoor venue to hold the market during winter months.\u00a0\u00a0According to Post, future farmers markets will feature outreach programs from nonprofit organizations, food demos and educational programs.
