It is one of a number of projects expected to spark economic activity in the city and surrounding area.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>COATESVILLE \u2014 City residents will soon start to notice several new additions being added to their community \u2014 a welcome sign of new economic life and projects that could create jobs and other growth to the area in coming years.<\/p>\n<p>These additions include a brand new Marriott Courtyard Hotel, the Velodrome Project and a new location for Coatesville\u2019s train station.<\/p>\n<p>Construction for the Marriott Courtyard Hotel will begin on Jan. 1, 2011 at Route 82 and the Route 30 Bypass and is estimated to be completed by March 1, 2012.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>According to Donald W. Pulver, president of the Oliver Tyrone Pulver Corp., the hotel will include 125 rooms, an indoor pool, an exercise room, a meeting room, an eating facility, and an outdoor seating area with a fire-pit that overlooks the Brandywine River.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis hotel will benefit the city of Coatesville by causing a lot of other businesses to spring up around the area,\u201d said Pulver. \u201cWe\u2019ve built two other Marriotts in Conshohocken which stimulated their surroundings. We also plan on building an office building and restaurant next door to the hotel so this is definitely the beginning of something.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_170\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/velodromerender.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-170\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-170 \" style=\"border: 2px solid gray; margin: 4px;\" title=\"velodromerender\" src=\"http:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/velodromerender-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/velodromerender-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/velodromerender.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-170\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">An artist&#39;s conception of the velodrome planned to be built in &quot;The Flats&quot; section of the city.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Not only will Coatesville enjoy a new hotel, but they will also will be the new home of the proposed Velodrome Project, an indoor cycling competition and event center. A cycling center will be the anchor activity of the venue but the Velodrome will also host concerts and other events. The property will include an on-site restaurant and performance center where athletes can train as well as an 18,000-square-foot retail pad. The project will be built on a 22-acre site at the intersection of Route 30 and Route 82 known as &#8220;The Flats.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">According to David Chauner, President of Velodrome Management Group, LLC, the project will create 165 new full time and part time jobs related to the facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe estimate that the facility will also draw an estimated 50,000 people each year,\u201d said Chauner. \u201cThis will generate $25 to $30 million for the city. The Velodrome will be the only one of its kind on the east coast. All cycling enthusiasts as well as cyclers will come here to train from all around the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coatesville\u2019s train station is also scheduled to receive a facelift. Currently, the Coatesville Train Station does not comply with federal Americans with Disabilities Act requirements and PennDOT is working to fix this issue and relocate the station.
