Before the walk began, a choir formed together to sing about Coatesville becoming a better place for all.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As the march proceeded down Lincoln Highway, the group made up of men, women and children of all races and religions were united together while they asked for peace and love in Coatesville. People driving by honked their horns in show of support and yelled, \u201cWe love Coatesville\u201d as they passed.<\/p>\n<p>City Council president Linda Lavender- Norris helped lead the parade at times and was joined by State Representative Harry Lewis of the 74<sup>th<\/sup> district.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a great thing for our community\u201d Lewis stated as he looked around at everyone in attendance.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16221\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/peacewalk2.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16221\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16221\" src=\"http:\/\/chescotimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/peacewalk2-300x201.jpeg\" alt=\"Mayor of Downingtown, Josh Maxwell, who is also running for State Representative of the 74th district, joined Coatesville residents as they walked through the city.\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-16221\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mayor of Downingtown, Josh Maxwell, who is also running for State Representative of the 74th district, joined Coatesville residents as they walked through the city.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Josh Maxwell, mayor of Downingtown and running for state representative of the 74<sup>th<\/sup> district said he hopes people will someday associate Coatesville with the word love, instead of negativity.<\/p>\n<p>As families gathered on their porches to watch the peace, love and unity march go by, one family yelled, \u201cWe\u2019re all in this together!\u201d and another family said, \u201cWe\u2019re one big family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the walk, the entire group gathered in the field at Scott Middle School, where a final prayer was said and everyone said their goodbyes.
