Art exhibit to draw works from Coatesville-area zip code<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s not just a zip code: It\u2019s a creative mecca. That\u2019s the message a Coatesville gallery hopes to spread during an exhibition titled \u201cArtists 19320!\u201d<\/p>\n

The show will feature works by art teachers from Sept. 20 to Oct. 7 at the Art Partners Studio\u2019s gallery, 524 E. Lincoln Highway.\u00a0 A free, public opening reception with refreshments will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 20.<\/p>\n

Artists 19320! will showcase eight area artists. Works will include drawings, paintings or mixed media by Barbara Glass, Gabe Neeld, Justin Phillips, Katie Verdieck and Shawn Wanner; ceramics by Susan Bankert; and photographs by Dave Eastburn and Carol Gannon.<\/p>\n

\u201cArtists 19320! presents an excellent opportunity for neighbors to enjoy artwork being created in our community,\u201d said Barbara Glass, one of the artists. \u201cThank you, Art Partners Studio for providing a much-needed gallery setting for Coatesville\u2019s artists!\u201d<\/p>\n

Artists 19320! was initiated by a group of artists, students, and art educators to recognize the artists who live, work, or have some connection to the City of Coatesville, the townships in the school district, or zip code 19320. A directory of artists working in all media is being compiled as a resource for the community with the hope that listed artists will be invited to show their work in future exhibitions and\/or performances at the studio or other venues in greater Coatesville.<\/p>\n

For any aspiring artists, Art Partners Studio just announced its fall line-up of art classes for all ages.\u00a0 Register now for art classes that begin the week of Sept. 29 and end the week before Thanksgiving. Daytime, after-school, and evening classes in drawing, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, and digital imaging are being offered in two studio spaces.\u00a0 A \u201cstate-of-the-arts\u201d media lab lets students explore the creative possibilities of digital photography and image editing on iMac computers with Adobe Photoshop and iPhoto.\u00a0 Ceramics classes are taught off-site at Barking Tree Pottery in Sadsburyville.<\/p>\n

In all classes, students work alongside experienced instructors\u2014experimenting with a range of art materials and methods to develop personal expression. Only a vivid imagination is required for any of the classes.<\/p>\n
