J.T. Dorsey’s “Soccer for Success” will be one of the programs showcased on Saturday at the Coatesville Farmers’ Market, which is partnering with the Coatesville Community Education Foundation to promote children’s after-school activities.<\/p><\/div>\n

At kid-friendly event, parents can research programs, buy produce<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Coatesville Farmers\u2019 Market, which has been introducing area residents to fresh, local culinary fare all summer, is partnering with the Coatesville Community Education Foundation this Saturday for a program of child-friendly activities.<\/p>\n

The \u201c Lights On After School Celebration\u201d\u00a0 \u2013 designed to promote after school programs – will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 pm. at the Coatesville Farmers\u2019 Market, located at Gateway Park, near the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Rt. 82.<\/p>\n

Parents, children, community leaders, elected officials and volunteers will converge to showcase programs such as the Art of Hope,\u00a0 a foundation-sponsored series of children\u2019s workshops on topics ranging from art to therapeutic horseback riding to robotics. Residents will also have a chance to learn about \u201cSoccer for Success,\u201d a nutrition and exercise program led by Coatesville\u2019s soccer star, J.T. Dorsey, who will attend the event.<\/p>\n

Parents will have an opportunity to peruse the tempting offerings of the farmer\u2019s market – from seasonal produce to Irie’s Jamaican cuisine to Hobo Ed’s Coatesville Community Coffee. And children will be able to participate in crafts and art projects and visit mini-horse from the Penn State Extensions\u2019 4-H Pony Partner Program.<\/p>\n

The popularity of the farmers\u2019 market has prompted organizers to extend its season until Nov. 17.
