{"id":29267,"date":"2021-03-12T09:24:13","date_gmt":"2021-03-12T14:24:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/?p=29267"},"modified":"2021-03-12T09:24:16","modified_gmt":"2021-03-12T14:24:16","slug":"chester-county-wins-award-for-excellence-in-financial-reporting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/?p=29267","title":{"rendered":"Chester County wins award for excellence in financial reporting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/ChesterCountyLogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-13548\" src=\"https:\/\/coatesvilletimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/ChesterCountyLogo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"303\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>WEST CHESTER \u2014 The Chester County Controller\u2019s Office received notification recently of an award bestowed upon them by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).\u00a0 A Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was presented to County Controller Margaret Reif and her staff for the 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, which was submitted in June 2020.\u00a0 A copy of the report can be found on Chester County\u2019s website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chesco.org\/controller\">www.chesco.org\/controller<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The GFOA Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and finance reporting, and its attainment \u201crepresents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management,\u201d notes the GFOA.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The award for 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report marks the 39<sup>th<\/sup> consecutive year that Chester County has earned the GFOA accolade.\u00a0 Most recent data ranks the county as one of the top in Pennsylvania to receive the award, and one of less than 60 counties (out of more than 3,000 nationwide) recognized for 39 years or more.<\/p>\n<p>County Controller Margaret Reif said, \u201cThis annual financial report is judged by an independent panel on many merits, including demonstration of a clear communication of our financial story. The team in the Controller\u2019s Office works very hard every year to produce a professional comprehensive financial report and this award validates our efforts to provide quality information.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy thanks goes to the team in the Controller\u2019s Office as well as the staff in our County Finance Office for their continued commitment to ensuring quality service and dedication to the residents of Chester County.
