The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce<\/a><\/u>\u00a0is announcing the departure of its President, Katie Walker, as she embarks on a new position at the Chester County Food Bank<\/a><\/u>\u00a0and the search for a new GWCC president begins.<\/div>\n

\u201cThis is a win for our Chester County community, as the leader of one of the region\u2019s largest and most successful chambers becomes Senior Director of Development at one of the county’s most high-impact, charitable nonprofits,\u201d said GWCC Board Chair John Serock, of John Serock Catering. \u201cKatie has positioned the Chamber ideally for its next chapter, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with her, the Chester County Food Bank and all of our business and community partners at this exciting time in the Chamber\u2019s esteemed 137-year history.\u201d<\/div>\n

\u201cThe Chester County Food Bank has worked hand-in-hand with the Chamber for many years, and this is the natural next step in the evolution of both organizations as we move forward,\u201d said Andrea Youndt, CEO of the Chester County Food Bank. \u201cWe have long enjoyed strong support from our local business community, and\u00a0Katie’s expertise will advance that initiative, while continuing to grow support across communities.\u201d<\/div>\n

The Chamber is naming current GWCC Director of Events and Marketing Carly McFadden as\u00a0Interim President, supported by Operations and Member Support Manager Lisa Leone. The Chamber will begin accepting applications for its new President once the position is posted in the coming weeks.<\/div>\n

Serock said, \u201cCarly and Lisa have long excelled at balancing the ‘big picture’ needs of the business community as a whole, while ensuring support for individual Chamber members who are at the heart of what we do to advance economic growth, person by person, business by business.”<\/div>\n

The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce\u2019s membership is building to an all-time high of nearly 600 large and small for-profit and nonprofit businesses and organizations in West Chester Borough,\u00a0Birmingham,\u00a0East Bradford,\u00a0East Goshen, \u200bThornbury,\u00a0West Goshen, Westtown and beyond. Members include Chester County\u2019s top retail, food & beverage, health & wellness as well as professional service providers, in addition to schools, universities and social service organizations.<\/div>\n
