\"\"Here is a brief update on some of the events that occurred recently in the Chester County DA\u2019s Office:<\/p>\n

DA Recognizes Corporal Timothy O\u2019Connor at FOP Memorial During <\/span>National Police Week<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

On May 14, 2026, law enforcement officers, county leaders, and members of the community gathered at the Chester County Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #11 for the annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service. This yearly service is a solemn tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.<\/p>\n

This years\u2019 ceremony paid tribute to Corporal Timothy O\u2019Connor, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on March 8, 2026. His name has been added to the memorial monument that sits just outside the FOP Lodge in West Chester, joining eleven other local and state officers who gave their lives in service while protecting the residents of Chester County.<\/p>\n

Speakers of the service included Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe, PA State Police Major Richard D\u2019Ambrosio, FOP Lodge #11 President Robert McCarron, and Casey O\u2019Connor. DA de Barrena-Sarobe concluded his remarks by saying, \u201cAdding Cpl. O\u2019Connor to this Memorial tonight is one small way to keep his memory alive. He joins ten other law enforcement officers who gave their life to protect Chester County. They were all bold and righteous officers. Heroes that we will always remember.\u201d<\/p>\n

The memorial recognizes the following past fallen officers: Parkesburg Police Officer Douglas H. Pyle (1988), PSP Avondale Trooper John J. Brown (1985), PSP Embreeville Trooper David D. Monahan (1980), East Pikeland Officer Robert W. Gates (1975), Kennett Square Officer Williams W. Davis (1972), Kennett Square Officer Richard J. Posey (1972), PSP Avondale Trooper Robert J. Lomas (1971), North Coventry Officer Daniel W. Guldin (1959), Chester County Sheriff Benjamin<\/span><\/p>\n

F. Irey (1887), Westtown-East Goshen Police Officer Joshua Micun (2021).<\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony was part of National Police Week, where the community is encouraged to reflect on the service and sacrifice of these officers. We extend our appreciation to all law enforcement officers who continue to wear the badge with dedicated professionalism, courage, and commitment.<\/p>\n

Spring Youth & Law Enforcement Symposium<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

On April 30, 2026, the Chester County District Attorney\u2019s Office held the Youth & Law Enforcement Symposium event at the Chester County Justice Center. This event brings together high school students and their teachers from around Chester County to meet with local and state law enforcement for meaningful discussions on the criminal justice system, juvenile programs offered in the county, and ways in which relationships between the community and police could be strengthened. Shaneen Paskings and her team from the Youth Community Law Enforcement Solutions (YCLS) led panel discussions, break-out sessions, and role-playing scenarios.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day\u2019s events included an overview of the District Attorney\u2019s Office and Detectives Office given by DA Christipher de Barrena-Sarobe and Chief Detective David Sassa. Chester County Commissioner Marian Moskowitz also thanked students and their teachers for their participation in the program.<\/p>\n

The participating schools included Avon Grove Charter School, Avon Grove High School, Coatesville Area High School, Devon Preparatory School, Downingtown East High School, Malvern Preparatory School, Technical College High School (TCHS), and West Chester Area School District. Law Enforcement Departments included Uwchlan Township Police Department, Westtown East Goshen (WEGO) Police Department, Tredyffrin Township Police Department, West Whiteland Police Department, West Goshen Police Department, West Caln Township Police Department, City of Coatesville Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, Chester County Sheriff\u2019s Office, and Chester County Detectives.<\/p>\n
