\u00a019-year-old is wanted for questioning about Monday’s fatal shooting in Caln Twp.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Deviane Scott, 19, is being sought for questioning regarding the fatal shooting of his stepfather on Monday night.<\/p><\/div>\n

Authorities are calling the stepson of a Caln Township homicide victim \u201ca person of interest\u201d and urging him to surrender for questioning regarding the fatal shooting of Joseph Durham, 36, on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan said Deviane Scott, 19, lived 3 Thorndale Place with his mother, Michele Durham, and her husband, Joseph Durham.\u00a0 On June 10, Michele Durham called to report a physical altercation between her son and her husband at the residence about 10:30 p.m., Hogan said.<\/p>\n

When police were able to enter the home, they discovered that Scott had fled with a gun and that Joseph Durham, who had been shot multiple times,\u00a0 was dead, Hogan said.<\/p>\n

Police said the fatal shooting of 36-year-old Joseph Durham occurred Monday night at his Caln Township residence.<\/p><\/div>\n

On Tuesday, Hogan said Scott, considered “armed and dangerous,” spoke by telephone with the police and stated that he would turn himself in at the Caln Township police station. Hogan said not only did he fail to appear but he also ignored numerous attempts to contact him.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are following all leads to track down Scott.\u00a0 By staying on the run, Scott is putting himself, the police, and the general public in grave danger,\u201d said Hogan.\u00a0 \u201cIn addition, the longer Scott fails to come in, the guiltier he looks.\u00a0 Scott and his family need to make arrangements for Scott to turn himself in peacefully and safely.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michele Durham called her husband \u201ca great father and a great husband\u201d who ran a fuel company. She said she was too distraught to comment further, and left the residence Tuesday afternoon with the couple\u2019s two young children in a vehicle packed with family belongings.<\/p>\n

Stunned neighbors in the unit block of Thorndale Place, a section of the apartment complex they described as quiet and peaceful, said that they always had pleasant interactions with the family and never saw any hint of trouble.<\/p>\n
