COATESVILLE \u2013<\/b> The Rotary Club of Coatesville has appointed Gregory V. Hines, Magisterial District Judge, as the new Club President for the 2013 \u2013 2014 year.\u00a0 Grover Koon, 2011-2012 past President and the new Rotary 7450 District Governor, presented Hines to attendees and congratulated him as the new President during the Club\u2019s July 11th luncheon meeting.\u00a0 Rotary clubs, districts, and Rotary International Officers began their terms on July 1st,\u00a0 <\/sup>however, Rotary did not hold meetings during the July 4th<\/sup> holiday.<\/p>\n

Hines, a lifelong resident of South Coatesville, joined Coatesville\u2019s Rotary Club in 2010. He takes over for Steve Cunningham, who served as president for the last year.<\/p>\n

In 2009, Governor Edward G. Rendell appointed Hines to Chester County\u2019s Coatesville District Magistrate Judge position. Later that year, Hines was elected to a full term, and still serves as the District Magistrate Judge.<\/p>\n

He explained that he was \u201cextremely honored and excited\u201d to be the new President, and said that he will \u201ccontinue to enhance the service that Rotary provides to Coatesville.\u201d Hines stated that he would \u201cwork with all members in the community to address issues of concern,\u201d and explained that some of his major objectives and goals were to work \u201chands-on on various programs and services that would benefit the Coatesville area, educate the community about Rotary, help increase membership, and to partner with other Rotary Clubs in the area on mutual projects.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the Club\u2019s meeting, as his first official duty as President, Hines congratulated Rotarians who celebrated consecutive years of perfect attendance.\u00a0 The Rotary Club of Coatesville perfect attendees are as follows:\u00a0 Bob Edge (47); Wilbur \u2018Bud\u2019 Adams (27); Bob Ford (19); Mark McGill (34); District Governor Grover Koon (4); Dr. C. Ross Darlington (4); Martha Skiadas (6); William M. Wright (47); and Ed Pristernik (19).<\/p>\n

Hines attended the annual Rotary International Convention which was held in Lisbon, Portugal during the first week of July.<\/p>\n

Hines stated that he was invigorated after he met and spoke with other Rotarians from around the world, and added that he was \u201cinspired to involve the Rotary Club of Coatesville in various international projects.\u201d<\/p>\n

One project included a program that assisted citizens of the Republic of Malawi, in Africa, to obtain clean water.\u00a0 Hines explained that Rotary\u2019s new theme for the 2013-2014 year is \u201c\u2018Engage Rotary, Change Lives.\u2019 when Rotarians work together with the community and others to assist those who are in need, we enrich ourselves, others, and we help to change lives in positive directions.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
