Pawling is expected to be charged with theft on Thursday.<\/p><\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><em><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: medium;\">He was target of two recent search warrants that referenced multiple thefts<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Charges are expected to be filed Thursday against former Coatesville Police Det. Gerald D. Pawling, whose residence was targeted in two recent search warrants.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan declined to \u00a0name Pawling because the charges have not been filed yet, but he said Wednesday that \u00a0he and other law enforcement authorities would hold a press conference to announce charges against a police officer for stealing money from other police officers.<\/p>\n<p>Chester County Detectives executed two search warrants at Pawling&#8217;s Caln Township residence \u00a0on July 24 and 25. According to the search warrants, Pawling, 42, who took an early-retirement option in May 2012, became the focus of an investigation on April 30 after Coatesville Det. Kevin Campbell took over the presidency of the Coatesville Police Benevolent Association (CPBA), a post previously held by Pawling.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Campbell \u00a0found \u201ca pattern of suspicious payments\u201d when he reviewed the books \u2013 numerous unauthorized checks to Pawling and his wife, Stacey Pawling, the warrants said.<\/p>\n<p>Pawling&#8217;s attorney, Daniel R. Bush, has said that his client \u00a0is \u201cfully cooperating\u201d with the investigation.
