Chester County prosecutor Deborah S. Ryan has been promoted to Deputy District Attorney in charge of the Child Abuse Unit.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Chester County District Attorney\u2019s Office has announced two new hires and a promotion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan said the swearing-in of two new prosecutors, Kelsey Gvozdich and Ryan Borchik, occurred Friday, Nov. 1, before Chester County Court Judge Mark L. Tunnell.\u00a0In addition, Deborah S. Ryan, a seven-year member of the office, was promoted to Deputy District Attorney in charge of the Child Abuse Unit, \u00a0a position previously held by Elizabeth B. Pitts, who left the office last month.<\/p>\n

Ryan, who received her undergraduate degree from Boston University and her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh Law School, came to Chester County after serving in the Philadelphia District Attorney\u2019s Office, a news release said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Deputy District Attorney in charge of the Child Abuse Unit has a tremendous responsibility,\u201d said Hogan.\u00a0 \u201cI have every confidence in Deb\u2019s ability to continue the vital work of protecting Chester County\u2019s children.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelsey Gvozdich, a former intern in the District Attorney\u2019s Office, was sworn in as an assistant district attorney on Friday.<\/p><\/div>\n

The two new assistant district attorneys both recently passed the Pennsylvania Bar Examination. \u00a0Gvozdich received her undergraduate degree from Juniata College and her law degree from Widener University School of Law.\u00a0 She previously served as an intern in the District Attorney\u2019s Office.\u00a0 Borchik received his undergraduate degree from Washington & Jefferson College and his law degree from the George Washington University School of Law.\u00a0 He previously served as an intern in the Office of the State\u2019s Attorney for Baltimore, Md., the release said.<\/p>\n

Ryan Borchik, who recently passed the state Bar Examination, has been hired as an assistant district attorney in Chester County.<\/p><\/div>\n
