Officers take two Coatesville brothers into custody on warrants<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"IMG_0486\"<\/a>A traffic stop on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 11:15 p.m. at Eighth and Stirling Avenues led to two arrests, police said. During the stop, Officer Joe Thompson determined that Cory Stanley, 18, of Coatesville, had a bench warrant for burglary from state police, police said. During that encounter, the defendant\u2019s brother, Andrew Stanley, 20, began yelling at police from his bedroom window, Cpl. Jonathan Shave reported. A check of records indicated that Andrew Stanley, 20, of Coatesville, was also wanted by state police for burglary, police said. Both brothers were taken into custody without incident to await arraignment and transport by constables to Chester County Prison, police said.<\/p>\n

A woman from the 400 block of Madison Street told police on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 6:38 a.m., that sometime during the night, someone entered her parked, unlocked vehicle and stole keys and identification, Sgt. Steven Smith reported. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-384-2300 or send an anonymous text by using the keyword Coatesville and their message to 847411, or complete an anonymous web tip form located on the police department webpage at www.coatesvilleorg.<\/p>\n

\u00a0On Thursday, Dec. 12, at 9:45 a.m., Mark Kennedy, 56, of Downingtown, surrendered at the police station on a criminal warrant for motor vehicle theft and related charges, Officer Art Brown reported. Kennedy was held for arraignment, police said.<\/p>\n

Cpl. Jonathan Shave conducted a traffic stop on a black Nissan Maxima for a vehicle violation at South Fifth Avenue and Olive Street on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 12:57 a.m., police said. During the stop, Shave observed several bags of suspected marijuana, empty bags, and a scale in plain view, police said, leading to the arrest of Elizae McDonald, 19, of Coatesville, for drug possession and possession with the intent to distribute, police said. McDonald was held for arraignment, police said.<\/p>\n

While on patrol in the 800 block of East Chestnut Street on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 7:05 p.m., Officer Ryan Corcoran observed a brown pickup truck back into a parked vehicle, police said. Corcoran made contact with the pickup\u2019s driver, Willie Williams, 69, of Coatesville, who displayed signs of intoxication, police said. Williams, who was placed under arrest and taken for a blood test, was charged with driving under the influence and careless driving, police said.<\/p>\n

Cpl. Brenden M. Boyle responded to an accident on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 11:34 a.m. at Strode Avenue and West Harmony Street, police said. Jose Vasquez-Bustos, 32, of Coatesville, slid on a patch of ice into a tractor-trailer, police said. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and no injuries were reported, police said, but Vasquez-Bustos was cited for driving without a license.<\/p>\n

A West Whiteland Township officer on patrol responded to the Kohl\u2019s store in Exton for a reported retail theft on Dec. 1, West Whiteland Police said. Trae Turner, 19, of Coatesville, was charged in connection with the misdemeanor theft of $284 worth of merchandise from the Kohl\u2019s store, police said. Turner was turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police on a warrant, police said.<\/p>\n
