CASD, CYI partner for annual service program at high school<\/span><\/em><\/h1>\n

MLK Day of Service will feature activities for all ages ranging from exercise and dance classes to CASD students’ original speeches.<\/p><\/div>\n

Organizers from the Coatesville Area School District and the Coatesville Youth Initiative want residents to mark their calendars for Monday, Jan. 20: the Fourth Annual Martin Luther King Day of Service.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The hands-on community service day will be held at Coatesville Area Senior High School (CASH) to help promote the mission and principles of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event promises myriad activities for all ages and skill levels from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants can join their neighbors in creating care packages for local senior citizen, make quilts for a cause, or learn how to improve credit worthiness.<\/p>\n

In addition, oratorical presentations will feature student participants from across the district, who created original writings.\u00a0\u00a0 The featured essays will be presented live, beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the CASH auditorium.<\/p>\n

Other activities will include storytelling, arts and crafts, teen programs on current topics, like job readiness, and the creation of cards for service men and women.\u00a0 Residents can make sure their voices are heard by signing up during a voter registration drive or work on improving mind and body by visiting the gym for sessions in Zumba and Body Combat.<\/p>\n
