Coatesville Police report child-luring attempt

Incident allegedly occurred Wednesday about 3 p.m. on E. Lincoln Highway

IMG_0875On Wednesday, Jan. 22, at approximately 3 p.m. a white minivan was observed circling the block at East Lincoln Highway and South 13th Avenue eight to 10 times, reportedly motioning for two juvenile females to come toward the van in an apparent attempt to get them into the vehicle, Coatesville Police Officer Jared Davis reported.

The minivan was last seen eastbound on East Lincoln Highway, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 610-384-2300; anonymous tips can be generated by using the Coatesville PD Tips app or by texting the keyword of Coatesville and a message to 847411.

A silver Dodge Avenger was seen striking a blue Dodge Caravan before fleeing the scene in the 200 block of Charles Street on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at about 1 p.m., Officer Jared Davis reported. The Caravan was unoccupied and parked on Church Street; the striking vehicle was last seen headed eastbound on East Lincoln Highway, police said. At 11:48 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, police observed Eric Gibbs, 25, of Coatesville, in the 800 block of Coates Street, Officer Jared Davis reported. Gibbs, who had several warrants, ran from officers but was apprehended a block away, police said. Gibbs was processed and released to constables for transport to Chester County Prison, police said.
