COATESVILLE — The Brandywine Health Foundation announced this week the addition of Renée C. Fairconeture to its staff.
Fairconeture will be primarily responsible for coordinating the launch of the foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Program generously underwritten by Citadel. This new program will provide Coatesville youth with the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills and learn about the world of grantmaking by setting funding priorities, soliciting and reviewing proposals, conducting site visits, and awarding $15,000 each year to non-profits serving the greater Coatesville community.
Fairconeture will be the new Program Manager at the Brandywine Health Foundation. She has a long and active history of community and public involvement, from local government to various civic efforts.
Prior to joining the Brandywine Health Foundation, she was an Administrator for Modena Borough. Her past experiences include Development Director for Camphill Soltane Foundation, Healthy Start Program and Development Director for the Maternal and Child Health Consortium of Chester County, and Director of the Community, Arts, and Recreation Department for the City of Coatesville, which included managing the city’s Weed and Seed community economic development, law enforcement, and anti-crime program. As a result of her successful development and collaborative efforts, she won the Pennsylvania Weed and Seed Coordinator of the Year Award, and the City of Coatesville won the Community of the Year Award in 2003.
She was chosen by the Pennsylvania Eastern District U.S. Attorney’s Office in 2005 to be an advisor/strategist for the Federal Government’s National Weed and Seed Program, and in 2006, the U.S. Department of Justice selected her to participate in their specialized community economic development Master’s program at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH. Prior to her work with the City of Coatesville, she was the Manager of Group Health and Utilization Management for CIGNA/Intracorp where she supervised corporate health care accounts and health professionals in a national call center.
She is also is one of the founding members of Community Dental of Chester County and served as Vice President of the Board of Directors for 10 years from 2002 to 2012. She was a member of Modena Borough Council, including one year as Council Vice President. She is a member and Board Director of the Rotary Club of Coatesville, and is a lifetime member of the PI Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences and is listed in the Society’s international “Who’s Who in Social Sciences” publications.
She received her B.A. in Sociology from LaSalle University, her M.S. Degree in Human Services with Honors from Lincoln University, and her M.S. Degree in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH.
