Faces various child endangerment, drug charges

A West Caln mother is accused of injecting her 14-year-old daughter and another teen with heroin.
Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan announced charges Monday against Jessica Lynn Riffey, 34, for allegedly supplying heroin to her 14-year-old daughter and a 16-year-old boy and injecting the drug into both of them.
“Supplying anyone with heroin is a potential death sentence,” Hogan said in a statement. “Injecting children, including your own daughter, with heroin demonstrates a depravity that defies belief.”
The charges came after township police responded to the woman’s Telegraph Road home for a well-being check on her daughter on Oct. 1.
Police said both teens reported that Riffey supplied them with heroin and injected them with heroin on multiple occasions at the home last month. Police said that teens were able to describe the process in some detail and claimed that Riffey’s boyfriend, not identified in the statement, allegedly provided both of them a snortable version of the drug.
Upon hearing this account, township police immediately began an investigation.
“The West Can Police Department and Chester County Detectives worked diligently and swiftly to unravel this disturbing crime,” West Caln Police Chief Curt Martinez said. “The children are now safe and we will continue to investigate.”
Riffey was arrested and charged with the endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, drug delivery and other related charged. She was remanded to Chester County Prision in Pocopson in lieu of $50,000 bail.
