Earlier this month, some of the students and instructors at ATA Martial Arts of West Chester participated and competed in the ATA Martial Arts Spring National Tournament at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Beginners and advanced students from all around the world came to be a part of this exciting competition.
We are proud to announce that in competition for their respected divisions, Bryan Denmark of Unionville High School placed first in Combat Weapons Sparring, Nicole McCarthy of West Chester Rustin High School placed third in Sparring and second in Combat Weapons Sparring, and Bobby Kormann of Pierce Middle School received a Songahm Spirit Award.
Denmark and McCarthy also participated in the Team USA Sparring Seminar and Tryouts. Both were chosen as top recruits and will continue to train for the opportunity to be chosen for Team USA later this year at the 2016 ATA World Expo in July.
ATA Martial Arts of West Chester owners, Master Marc Jouan and Maria Jouan both participated in high rank midterm testings to prepare for advancement in their rank. Maria Jouan is preparing and training for the rank of 6th Degree Black Belt, which she will be testing for at the 2016 ATA World Expo. Marc Jouan is training and preparing for his 7th Degree Black Belt in 2017.
