Body found in East Fallowfield was 30-year-old Coatesville resident
Investigators said they found the body of the county’s ninth homicide victim this year in East Fallowfield Township.
The victim of a fatal shooting early Sunday morning in East Fallowfield Township has been identified as a 30-year-old former Brooklyn, N.Y., resident.
The Chester County District Attorney’s Office said the body of Derrick B. Harris, who had been residing in Coatesville, was found in the unit block of Newlinville Road, a press release said. He had been fatally shot, the release said.
District Attorney Tom Hogan said the East Fallowfield Police Department and the Chester County Detectives are investigating. Anybody with information should contact Chester County Detective Bob Dougherty at 610-692-5100.
Harris’s death marks the eighth homicide so far this year; in 2011, the county had a total of nine, Hogan said.
