Man charged with making bomb threat against police

COATESVILLE — A City man was charged with making a bomb threat against the city police department, Wednesday.

Police said that a bomb threat was called into police headquarters via 911, at 9:53 p.m., Tuesday night, by what was identified as a male voice. The building was immediately evacuated and searched (including City Hall), with help from the Chester County Sheriff’s K-9 unit.

Upon further investigation, police said that the caller was identified as Francis Keith Gibson. Gibson was taken into custody Wednesday and arraigned before District Justice Nancy Gill. Gibson was unable to post bond at the time of his hearing and was remanded to Chester County Prison.
