‘Guns Around Town’ lecture, May 25

Gun Sense Chester County (formerly The Chester County Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence) is offering a “public invited lecture and discussion” for anyone interested in learning more about gun regulation, a brief overview of proposed legislation and an open discussion of the goals and approach to gun safety by Gun Sense Chester County.

The event is called “Guns Around Town.” It’s designed to enhance community awareness on critical gun topics in an open discussion format. There is no admission charge and all are invited, gun owners and non-gun owners alike. Reservations are not required.

“We are not all going to agree on every issue surrounding gun violence and effective prevention methods,” says Ann Cummings, Chairperson of Gun Sense Chester County. “If our communities are to find a productive way forward, we have to be able to listen to each other and find common ground.”

The event will be held at Kennett Meeting House, 125 West Sickle Street, Kennett Square 19348 on Thursday May 25th at 7:15. Information will be available for interested volunteers.

“The issue of gun violence affects everyone in our society,” Cummings says. “We want to talk to all citizens, gun owners and non-gun owners alike, about ways to protect all of our freedoms and promote gun safety for individuals and our communities. These are not easy conversations, but they are important ones.”

The Gun Sense Organization is online at: www.gunsensecc.com, on Facebook, or by email at gunsensecc@gmail.com. Donations (made out to Gun Sense Chester County) can be sent to 1549 Millrace Lane, West Chester PA 19380. Gun Sense is an all-volunteer, not for profit, 501 (C) (4) organization founded in 2017.
