Coatesville Farmers Market features tempting array this week
COATESVILLE — Music, melons and merriment are among the offerings this week at the Coatesville Farmers Market in Gateway Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Against a backdrop that will spotlight original tunes by Chester County duo Fiorenza-Dowlin, vendors will include Rex Farms Orchard, which is adding Red Haven peaches and Sugar Cube Midget cantaloupe to its produce bounty; Jacob Beiler, who will feature corn, green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini and Amish goods; and the Wonderful Good Market at Stoudt’s Brewery, which is preparing Chocolate Cherry Ciabatta as this week’s featured bread.
In addition, Nomadic Pies will add quiches made with Highland Farm cheese and bacon and Rex Farms blueberry pie to its fresh-baked array; Irie Jamaican Food and Coffee will tempt patrons with dishes such as jerk chicken and oxtail, begging to be complemented by flavored Blue Mountain iced coffee; and the Pennsylvania Cookie House will make selections difficult with 21 assortments, ranging from Dulce Chocolate Chip Cookies to Pecan Sandies.
Fund-raisers to benefit the market include the sale of iced tea – free water will keep patrons hydrated – and Coatesville Community Coffee from Hobo Ed’s Railyard Roastery. Market vendors accept EBT/SNAP/ACCESS, FMNP, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
The market’s community partners this week are the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County, UDS Service Dogs, and Abilatools, Inc., which refurbishes viable medical equipment for distribution to people in need.
