Registration opens for Degville golf tournament

Registration is now underway for the Seventh Annual Madeline Degville Suicide Prevention Golf Tournament to be held Monday, August 14, 2017, at the top-rated Broad Run Golfer’s Club, located at 1520 Tattersall Way in West Chester. Proceeds from the event benefit The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, Inc. (CVC).

The tournament – a Four-Person Scramble, 18 holes will begin with a 8:30 a.m. Shotgun Start. Lunch will be served following the tournament. There will be prizes for Closest to Pin, Longest Drive and other contests. Hole, Tournament and Prize Sponsorships are also available.

Entries are due by Monday, August 7, 2017. Entry fee is $125 per player or $480 for a foursome if before or on July 14, 2017. After July 14, 2017, entry fee is $140 per player or $540 for a foursome.  Entry  fee includes  greens fee, cart  with GPS, and lunch.  Checks  should be made payable to: CVC. The  tournament   was  established   seven  years  ago  by  the   Family  Martial  Arts  Center in Downingtown in memory of local teen Madeline Degville, a student at the Center. Maddie took her life when she was just 16 years old, after struggling for years with sexual abuse at the hands of a non-related adult and the loss of her father at age 10.

The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, Inc. is a private, community-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) victim advocacy agency that provides free, immediate, and confidential crisis response and compassionate support to children and adults victimized by crime and violence. CVC provides assistance through counseling, advocacy, resources and education. CVC fosters community awareness and understanding through its comprehensive outreach and prevention programs.
