Free Health Fair at Gateway Park to focus on variety of health issues

Days before the Brandywine Health Foundation’s Vision Café – an Aug. 14 opportunity to offer feedback on improving community health – area residents can put good health to practice and get some ideas to share at the café by attending  the Healthy Beginnings Health Fair.

Sponsored by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, the free fair will be held Sunday in Gateway Park at the intersection of Routes 30 and 82. Events, such as yoga, a stroll along the Riverwalk, garden education at the Coatesville Community Garden, and martial arts demonstrations will start as early as 10 a.m.

In addition, the day will include cooking instruction, children’s activities, exercise sessions, and giveaways from 1 to 4 p.m.  Free screenings will include blood pressure and cholesterol.

Booths will focus on a variety of health issues from hearing to heart health to dialysis information. Representatives from the Brandywine YMCA and the Parisi Speed School, a sports performance training center, will be among the participants.

Organizers promise an opportunity to “explore the ways we can live healthy lives by changing our lifestyles.” Registration is recommended: Email  cfhealthfair@gmail.com or call 610-593-1018.
