Fund-raising event will pair cuisine, beer to benefit operations
In a time of ubiquitous budget cuts, the Coatesville Library invites residents to raise a glass – or several – to support its valuable operations and programs.
On Sept. 15, the library is hosting “Pints Between the Pages,” a beer-tasting, food-pairing fund-raiser. Library director Denise M. Pulgino Stout said she attended a similar function at the Pottstown library, which was very successful. “I really thought that it would go over very well in Coatesville, too,” she said.
For a $40 ticket price, participants will be treated to five courses of food from Triple Fresh Catering that will be matched with five beers, including Lindeman’s Frambois Lambec, a dessert beer, Stout said.
The Stoney Creek Home Brewers Association will discuss the beers and food-pairings, she said.
Stout said the library received generous donations and price breaks from Victory Brewing, Otter Creek and Lamb Beverage. In addition to the cuisine, the event will feature gift baskets, quilts, and other raffle items.
“Folks will learn about the library and why we need their support, enjoy a fun evening, and hopefully go home telling their friends about the event and the library,” said Stout.
