Letter: Thank yous for support of Strawberry Festival

To The Editor:

On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors of the Brandywine Health Foundation, “THANK YOU” to our entire community for your support of the 2018 Strawberry Festival!  We are extremely grateful to KeyBank and PECO for generously serving as the presenting sponsors, once again, and to Brandywine Hospital – Tower Health for allowing us to use their beautiful grounds and staff support from planning and executing the four day event.  The shared commitment of these three companies is quite overwhelming.  They generously provide financial support, volunteer participation, and in-kind donations that continues to inspire others to give back as well.

This year, nearly one hundred local and regional businesses joined our list of dedicated festival sponsors, generously underwriting the expenses of the event so that money can be put right back into our community.  Grants from the Strawberry Festival will be directed to the greater Coatesville community through the Coatesville Area Public Library, Coatesville Rotary Club, Coatesville Youth Initiative, and the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company.

Special thanks are due to the following exclusive sponsors:

– Bridgestone, Fireworks Sponsor

– ArcelorMittal, Strawberry Shortcake Sponsor

– Coatesville Savings Bank, Strawberry Stage Sponsor

– Gallagher, Strawberriest Kid Contest Sponsor

– Homespire Windows, Craft and Vendor Fair Sponsor

– Philips Brothers Electrical Contractors, Dining Tent Sponsor

– Castle “The Window People”, Children’s Sand Art Tent Sponsor

– Citadel, Strawberry Café Live Sponsor

– Cricket Wireless, Phone Charging Station Sponsor

– Green Mountain Energy Company, Strawberry Patch Game Sponsor

– Martin Brower, Goldfish Booth Sponsor

– Wawa, Platinum Sponsor

We greatly appreciate Krapf Bus Company’s shuttle service; Coatesville Area School District for allowing us to use their fields for parking; the numerous local businesses for their in-kind donations; and Vista.Today, More FM, and WCHE 1520 AM for their great coverage of the event.  The Brandywine Health Foundation is honored to have the support of these companies and the others that are highlighted on the festival website and in our publications.

We would like to acknowledge the 400 plus volunteers that donated their time and talent to help run the various booths and areas of the festival.  Many local businesses and non-profit organizations went above and beyond by providing volunteers to staff booths throughout the weekend.  It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we all work together for our community.  Each and every one of you should feel proud that you made a positive difference in the greater Coatesville area by just giving a few hours of your time.

We also want to acknowledge all the entertainers and bands who donated their performances.  Our Strawberry Stages and Strawberry Café Live were full each and every day with talented musicians and performers.  A special thanks to Jim Mobile from Stages Arts Initiative for providing the sound for these talented groups!

A great BIG THANK YOU to the Caln Township Police Department and Washington Hose EMS for helping to keep everyone safe and well.

And last but certainly not least … THANK YOU to the members of the volunteer organizing committee who generously give their time and talents all year long to produce this annual community event. You inspire us each day with your creativity, collaborative spirit, and commitment.
