Candlelight vigil planned to remember Sandy Hook victims

CHESTER SPRINGS — Volunteers with the Pennsylvania chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, will gather Saturday, Dec 14th with community members for an event to honor the seven-year mark of the Sandy Hook School shooting, which took the lives of 20 children and six educators, as well as all victims and survivors of gun violence. Events are being held across the country to honor those affected by gun violence and ask lawmakers to act to end this crisis.

In the seven years since the shooting at Sandy Hook School, Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers, along with survivors of gun violence and other gun violence prevention advocates, have fought hard – and successfully – to change America’s lax gun laws, but much more must be done. One hundred Americans are shot and killed every day, and hundreds more are wounded.

Speakers are expected to include:

    • Chrissy Houlahan, US Representative, Pennsylvania 6th Congressional District of Pennsylvania
    • Michelle Roberson, COE, Bianca Nikol Merge with Mercy Foundation
    • Volunteers with the Pennsylvania chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America- Chester County

The event will be held at, Henrietta Hankin Library 215 Windgate Dr, Chester Springs PA 19425, starting at 10 am.
