Program focus: What’s cookin’ in Coatesville area?

Free classes will cover saving money, eating healthy, getting exercise

The free six-week program of classes will teach participants how to select and prepare healthful meals.

A free series of cooking and nutrition classes is designed to whet appetites for frugal, healthful eating.

 The series – “Eat Smart and Move More!” – will be presented by the Penn State Cooperative Extension in collaboration with Maternal and Child Health Consortium, ChesPenn Health Services, and the Coatesville Center for Community Health. It is open to all.

Weekly two-hour classes, which will all feature recipes, will begin on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Brandywine Center in the fourth-4th floor conference room; the last class will be Nov. 19.

 The first session will include an introduction and overview. Subsequent topics will range from understanding food labels to fixing food safely to getting the best for less.

The Brandywine Center is located at 744 E. Lincoln Hwy. in Coatesville. To register, please call the Penn State extension at 610-696-3500.
