State police probing theft from W. Sadsbury vehicle

Police said windows were smashed to gain access; iPod stolen

State police from the Embreeville barracks reported the following incidents recently in the Coatesville area.

Police are investigating a theft from a vehicle sometime between 9 p.m. on Oct. 19 and 10:28 a.m. on Oct. 20 on Upper Valley Road in West Sadsbury Township. Police said windows were broken in two vehicles and an iPod was stolen.  Anyone with information is asked to call the barracks at 484-340-3241, police said.

Wendy Jean Lane, 47, of Modena, was charged with driving under the influence in the 100 block of Cambridge Road in West Caln Township on Oct. 21 at 12:12 a.m., police said. Officers dispatched to the scene found her asleep in her vehicle, police said.

A 21-year-old Coatesville man was arrested for possessing a prohibited offensive weapon. Police said Ryan R. Leininger was cited on Sept 15 at 10:10 p.m. on Rt. 282 near Corner Ketch Road in East Brandywine Township.

Michael Andrew Canepi, 29, of West Chester, faces open lewdness and indecent exposure charges, stemming from a Sept. 20 incident on the Rt. 30 bypass near Reeceville Road in Caln Township, police said. Canepi is accused of displaying his genitals to a female driver while both were traveling in separate vehicles on the bypass, police said.

Police said a two-vehicle crash occurred Oct. 1 on eastbound Rt. 30, just east of Reeceville Road in Caln Township at 6:42 a.m. Peter J. McCluskey, 29, of Parkesburg, failed to slow his 2012 Chevrolet Malibu and struck a 2001 Toyota 4Runner in stop-and-go traffic. McCluskey was cited for following too closely, police said.

A one-vehicle crash on Oct. 9 at 4:36 a.m. resulted in a citation for a 26-year-old West Chester woman, police said. Kristen N. Dove was traveling westbound on Martins Corner Road, attempting to turn right onto Coffroath Road in West Caln Township, police said. Dove, who was not injured, failed to navigate the curve, left the roadway and hit a tree, police said.
