COATESVILLE — In celebration of National Salvation Army Week, which runs from May 10 to 16, The Salvation Army of Coatesville is proud to honor Cathy Blair as its 2021 Hero of Hope for the impact she has made on our local community members in need, especially over the last pandemic year.
Blair, resident of Chester County, is an advisory board member of The Salvation Army of Coatesville. During her tenure and especially over the span of the COVID-19 pandemic, Blair has worked tirelessly to ensure that The Salvation Army continues providing services on the frontlines to those who have struggled to provide for themselves and their families. Specifically, she has volunteered every week to help with packing and distributing food boxes to those in need in the Coatesville community. Over 3,000 food boxes have been distributed since the start of the pandemic.
Blair is one of a select number of representatives throughout Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware, as well as nationwide, who have been honored as The Salvation Army’s Heroes of Hope.
“Without Cathy’s passion and dedication to supporting her local community and helping struggling neighbors to get back on their feet, The Salvation Army would not have been able to serve the region and country in the way that it has over the last year,” said Lt. Col. Larry Ashcraft, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army of Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware. “It’s our Heroes of Hope who are helping us carry our mission of serving our neighbors, even as we enter a new normal.”
The Salvation Army of Coatesville encourages community members who are able to be Heroes of Hope for their struggling neighbors, just like Blair.
