Chester County SPCA slashes fees to urge friendlier alternative
Has campaign sniping become a pet peeve? Perhaps a non-partisan pooch would provide a welcome respite from the divisive barking of the political candidates.
From now through Tuesday, the Chester County SPCA is slashing its dog-adoption fee from $125 to $45 – in keeping with the election of the 45th U.S. president.
Courtesy of Hurricane Sandy, adoptions this past week are down at the nonprofit agency. In response, the Chester County SPCA created the Patriotic Pooches Election Day event to encourage area residents to exercise their right to select one of over of 40 dogs in search of a home.
The adoption fee includes spaying or neutering, initial vaccinations, an identifying microchip, a starter bad of Science Diet food, and a free exam by one of over 60 participating veterinarians.
The Chester County SPCA is located at 1212 Phoenixville Pike in West Goshen Township. Animal visitation/adoption hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday and Wednesday, noon to 3 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.ccspca.org.
