Four women inducted into international education society

The Coatesville Area School District is pleased to announce that four staff members from the King’s Highway Elementary School were honored recently.

Maryann Schwab, Danielle Smith, Janet Lane and Cynthia Kruse  were  inducted into Delta Kappa Gamma Society International (DKG).  DKG honors women who have given distinctive service in the field of education.  The local chapter, Beta Omicron, is comprised of influential women from the Downingtown, West Chester, and Coatesville areas, district officials said.

One of the major purposes of the organization is to provide service to the community.  With this in mind, DKG provides funds to local organizations that benefit children, such as the Coatesville Public Library, the Samara House, and the Brandywine YMCA.  Additionally, the organization provides three scholarships for students entering the field of education.
