Santa photo one way to assist homeless pets

Half of proceeds will benefit Chester County SPCA

Purchasing a photo of your pet with Santa this weekend is one way to help the Chester County SPCA.

“Dear Santa: It’s been a tough year. We were very good, but we lost our homes anyway. What we’d like most for Christmas is a family to love us.”

The Chester County SPCA, which authored the letter on behalf of animals seeking adoption, would like to remind residents to consider the agency during the holiday shopping season.

This Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., animal-lovers can purchase photos of their pets with Santa at PetSmart, 1010 E. Lancaster Ave., in Downingtown. The cost is $9.95 for a includes a digital photo in a holiday collector frame;  $5 from each purchase benefits the Chester County SPCA.

The nonprofit agency is also accepting donations of cash or materials. Priority needs include Kuranda dog beds,  cat-scratchers from Stretch and Scratch, soft cat and dog treats, and copier paper (white and colored).  To see the entire wish list, visit  http://www.ccspca.org/.
