Harmony Hill Nursery, LLC (HHN) announced Monday it has acquired the Tulpehocken Nursery’s assets in Reading. These assets will be directly absorbed into HHN effective immediately.
Tulpehocken Nursery was founded over 40 years by Patty Meinhart on the premise to grow quality trees and shrubs for the discerning landscape designer and contractor in the fertile fields along the Tulpehocken Nursery of Berks County. Her plant palette consisted of native flowering, understory & select specimen trees, complemented with native and ornamental shrubs of landscape size. Being a formally trained landscape designer and horticulturist these plants were produced following strict production standards of quality pruning and harvesting. The last few years additional practices such as organic fertilizer, compost amendments and reduced tillage have been incorporated to become more sustainable.
Patty has been a cohort of HHN for nearly our 15 years of business for not only procuring her plants but her knowledge and friendship. We are honored to carry on her legacy of plant production under the HHN name as we plan on producing a similar plant palette on her land to expand our own inventory for architects, designers, contractors and distributors. We find it very important to produce plants here in Pennsylvania not just on principle for our customers but to also be ecologically sustainable to our climate, support the demand from customers and reduce stress & the carbon footprint from plants getting shipped to our region. As more and more regional nurseries close we are aiming to fill that void and produce more local plants for our discerning customers.
HHN is planning to continue to supply the Tulpehocken customer base with the strong customer service HHN is known for by contacting the office via 610-873-2495 or office@hhnurseryllc.com to check on price/availability, place and order or schedule a tour. All business transactions will be conducted through the HHN office at 45 Buck Rd, Downingtown, PA 19335.
