Handful of area residents arrested for drunken-driving

Two of the incidents stemmed from traffic crashes, police said

Updated at 5:20 p.m. Friday to add two more drunken-driving arrests

State police from the Embreeville barracks are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred Jan. 19 in Caln Township. Police said R.S. Collins, 51, of West Chester, rear-ended a 2002 Chevrolet, which was stopped for a traffic light at the end of the Rt. 340 ramp from the westbound Rt. 30 Bypass.  Collins was cited for following too closely and arrested for driving under the influence, police said.

Troopers from the Embreeville barracks who observed a driver allegedly weaving on westbound Strasburg Road, east of Laurel Road in Newlin Township on Jan 6 at 1:07 a.m., determined that the driver had multiple warrants, state police said. Upon contact, police said Dayvon N. Brown, 19, of Coatesville, was also driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.  He was charged with drunken-driving and possession of narcotics, police said, adding that anyone with information should contact them at 484-340-3241. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday, according to court records.

Michael J. Davidson, 48, of Coatesville, was arrested on Jan. 13 at 12:27 a.m. on Rt. 1 northbound, north of Orchard Road in East Marlborough Township, state police from Embreeville said. After a traffic stop, troopers determined that Davidson had been driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Latasha Jones, 28, of Coatesville, was cited for speeding in a 2002 Ford on Dec. 26 after she rear-ended a 2003 Mazda, which was stopped at a stop sign at Strasburg and Telegraph Roads in West Bradford Township, state police said.

A West Caln Township woman was charged with harassment on Jan. 5 around midnight, state police said. Troopers responding to a domestic call filed charges against Deborah Marie Brown, 48, police said. Anyone with information should call police at 484-340-3241.

State police from the Embreeville barracks are investigating a crash at Rt. 10 and Hershey Lane that occurred on Dec. 8 at 2:25 a.m. Police said Amanda Allen, 27, of Coatesville was driving a green Oldsmobile while under the influence of alcohol.

State police also arrested the following individuals suspected of driving under the influence: Pablo Alexander Loescher-Velazquez, 36, of Coatesville, on Jan. 12 at 11:52 p.m. on Strasburg Road in West Bradford Township; and Logan Campbell Miller, 21, on Dec. 31 at 6:55 p.m. on the Rt. 30 Bypass in Valley Township.

Lamar A. Brickus, 28, of Coatesville was stopped for speeding on the Route 30 Bypass at 1:15 a.m. on Jan. 1 by West Whiteland Township Police.  The investigating officer detected evidence of intoxication and issued a series of field sobriety tests, leading to an arrest for drunken-driving, police said.

West Whiteland police also stopped Dwayne D. Bowman, 50, of Coatesville, for speeding on the Route 30 Bypass at 11:45 p.m. on Jan. 5, police said. Bowman was arrested after failing field-sobriety tests; he was also charged with providing false identification to authorities and operating on an expired driver’s license, police said.

Mary E. Gomez, 20, of Coatesville, was detained outside the Boscov’s store in the Exton Square Mall on Jan. 7 when she left without paying for clothing items valued at $378, West Whiteland Township Police said, adding that Gomez was booked on misdemeanor charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property.
