Rx for seniors to avoid ills of scam artists

Coatesville Area NAACP hosting educational workshop

scpu_flyer_smYou don’t have to be a member of law-enforcement to realize that senior citizens are often targeted by criminals, whether someone unscrupulous is impersonating a loved one and pleading to have money wired to them or soliciting a down payment for a new roof that will never materialize.

In an effort to reduce this victimization, the Coatesville Area NAACP is hosting a free Senior Financial Education Workshop on Wednesday at 10 a.m. It will be held at the Greater Deliverance Church, located at 800 S. First Ave., Coatesville, 19320.

Information for the workshop will be presented by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office, as part of their Senior Crime Prevention University.  The aim is to educate seniors and prevent them from being victims to scams and con artists.

For more information or to RSVP, contact the Coatesville Area NAACP at info@coatesvillenaacp.org or  (484) 378-0950.
