Search warrant led to seizure of large amounts of illegal drugs, over $28,000, police said

Coatesville Police arrested a convicted drug dealer on new charges last week.

Richard Dixon, 38, of Coatesville, was taken into custody in the 300 block of East Chestnut Street on Wednesday at 12:31 a.m., said Coatesville Det. Brandon Harris.  Dixon was found to be in possession of 53 bags of suspected cocaine, 67 bags of suspected marijuana, and 60 varied, illegal prescription pills, Harris said.

Harris said the Coatesville City Narcotics unit, assisted by members of the Chester County Municipal Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at Dixon’s residence in the unit block of South Sixth Avenue. There, police found about three ounces of suspected crack cocaine, three ounces of suspected marijuana, 80 illegal prescription pills of various types, firearm ammunition, two scales, drug paraphernalia, and over $28,000 in cash, Harris said.

Dixon, who is on parole until 2017 for a 2005 drug conviction, was transported to Chester County Prison, where he is being held on a state parole violation as well as failing to post $15,000 bail, Harris said. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 18, court records said.

State police from the Embreeville barracks arrested a couple in connection with two alleged burglaries on Cygnet Drive in West Sadsbury Township. Police said during the second burglary, the victims awoke to find Paul Von Linderman, 26, formerly of Coatesville, in their master bedroom, police said.

Police said the residents chased Linderman from the home, but he dropped his cell phone and returned a short time later to retrieve it before fleeing with Kyrsten L. Buehler, 19, of Coatesville, in her white 1993 Buick Regal.

Each was taken into custody later after committing additional crimes, police said. Both defendants are cooperating with police, and Linderman has admitted to other thefts and burglaries in Newlin and West Bradford Townships, police said. Linderman is in Chester County Prison and Buehler is housed in Lancaster County Prison, police said. A preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled, according to court records.

A traffic stop by state police led to driving-under-the-influence charges against a Coatesville man. Joshua R. Ward, 29, was pulled over on Quarry Road, south of Lancaster Avenue, in East Caln Township on Feb. 9 at 8:12 p.m., police said. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 1, court records said.

Two juveniles, a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, were arrested on Feb. 23 at 5:56 p.m. in a park in the 900 block of Chestnut Street in Coatesville, state police said. Police said the two teens were observed smoking marijuana and ignored commands not to flee; they were apprehended and cited for disorderly conduct, police said.

State police are looking for the hit-and-run driver who was traveling north on North Brandywine Avenue in Modena on Feb. 25 at 4 a.m. Police said the driver struck a legally parked 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier head-on, did a moderate amount of damage to the vehicle, and fled the scene.

A 36-year-old Coatesville woman was cited for a traffic violation after a one-car crash on Feb. 20 at 4:43 p.m.; state police said Laura M. Hydutsky was traveling north on Cann Road, south of Strasburg Road, when she failed to negotiate a left curve. Police said Hudutsky, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor injury when her 2012 Subaru Impreza struck a tree and rolled over.
