Four defendants taken into custody on warrants

Coatesville officers chased one city resident on foot before apprehending him

Image 2In the past 24 hours, Coatesville police arrested four defendants on outstanding warrants, one of whom prompted a foot pursuit.

Coatesville Cpl. Ken Michels and Officer Rob Kuech observed Daython “DayDay” A. Parker, 27, of Coatesville, on Wednesday at 1:11 p.m. near the intersection of Walnut Street and Virginia Avenue and attempted to take him into custody, police said. Parker, wanted for parole violations, fled before being apprehended in the 100 block of South Fifth Avenue, police said.

On Wednesday at 5:33 p.m., Officer Jonathan Shave took a Chester man into custody without incident, police said. Glenn Merritt, 40, was arrested on domestic relations warrants in the unit block of South Fifth Avenue, police said.

A “well-being check” turned into an arrest on Thursday at 3:20 a.m. at South Sixth Avenue and East Lincoln Highway, police said. Cpl. Jeffrey Ingemie found Jennifer Jo Hoskins, 35, of Parkesburg, with three jars containing suspected cocaine residue and other narcotics paraphernalia in her possession, police said. Hoskins also had an active bench warrant, police said.

 On Thursday at 8:01 p.m., Cpl. Larry Cooper served a felony burglary warrant without incident on Steven Morgan, 44, of Chester, in the unit block of Chester Avenue, police said.

A 20-year-old Coatesville woman was arrested on Thursday at 10:17 p.m. at the intersection of North First Avenue and East Lincoln Highway, police said. Kasseemah E. Chapman possessed a narcotic and narcotics paraphernalia, police said.

Police said a Honey Brook woman suffered a  “medical emergency” that led to a two-car accident in the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway on Thursday at 5:55 p.m. Officer Kirt Guyer responded to the scene, where Mildred Stringer, 57, had sideswiped a parked vehicle, police said, adding that she was treated and released by medical personnel.

A Modena man was arrested for driving under the influence on Feb. 27 on the eastbound Rt. 30 Bypass, east of Reeceville Road in Caln Township, said state police from the Embreeville barracks. Police said Justin M. Lynam, 30, was cited after a traffic stop at 11:25 p.m.

State police are investigating an alleged incident of criminal mischief in South Coatesville. Police said sometime between 6:30 p.m. on March 2 and 6:30 a.m. on March 3, someone chipped paint on the rear bumper of a vehicle in the unit block of Penn Avenue.
