Police respond to shooting on Sunday

Investigators said 22-year-old a victim of apparent suicide

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOn Sunday, police said they responded to a report of a shooting at 7:41 p.m. in the 500 block of East Harmony Street. Cpl. Jeffrey Ingemie said that a 22-year-old homeless man was the apparent victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was taken to Paoli Hospital, where he was listed  in critical condition. A spokeswoman for the hospital said he died Monday.

Officer David Marquette arrested Dennis Hallager, of West Chester, on Sunday at 10:34 p.m. for public intoxication after Hallager was observed staggering on Pennsylvania Avenue and the Midway parking lot, ignoring officers’ commands to stop, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the unit block of North Eighth Avenue on Saturday at 7:07 p.m. for a report of loud music. Upon arrival, Cpl. Ken Michels observed a tan Chevy Caprice playing music that could be heard from a distance of at least 50 feet away; the operator and lone occupant of the vehicle, Moses Lindsey Jr., 37, of Coatesville, was cited for a noise ordinance violation and related traffic offenses, police said.

On Saturday, Cpl. Ken Michels issued a warrant for Jacques Roberts, 29, of Coatesville, after investigating a report of domestic assault at 3:42 p.m. in the 600 block of Victoria Drive, police said. The victim, who sustained multiple injuries, including a knocked-out tooth and head contusions, told police that Roberts, who had left the area before police arrived, had assaulted her, police said.

Police arrested a 20-year-old Coatesville resident about 10 hours after issuing a warrant for simple assault for an incident in the 100 block of Woodland Avenue, police said. The alleged victim, who sustained minor injuries, told Officer David Marquette that Eric Gibbs had struck her in the face and knocked her down after a verbal dispute around midnight on Saturday, police said.

Officer Jonathan Shave cited a 24-year-old Coatesville man for criminal mischief on Saturday at 5:13 p.m., police said. Christopher Connor kicked in the back door of his mother’s residence, causing about $200 damage, police said.

An altercation in the 600 block of East Lincoln Highway on Saturday at 1:10 p.m. led to harassment citations, police said. Cpl. Ken Michels said an investigation revealed that Donte Camp and Kadijah Thompson made threatening phone calls and attempted to engage the victims in a fight, police said.
