18-year-old female arrested after allegedly ranting, shoving officer
On Wednesday, officers conducting an investigation in the 400 block of Walnut Street were approached at 6 p.m. by Alicia Buchanan, 18, of Coatesville, who began screaming and appeared to have knowledge relevant to the probe, Officer David Marquette reported. Buchanan refused to identify herself as “she lashed out at officers, causing a crowd to form,” police said. She was arrested for disorderly conduct after shoving an officer; resisting arrest charges were added after she continued to struggle with officers, police said.
On Thursday, at approximately 4:45 a.m., Coatesville officers investigating an occupied vehicle in the unit block of Community Lane observed Grant Lee Maxwell Jr., 43, and a female engaged in sexual activity, said Officer David Marquette. Upon further investigation, Maxwell was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics and taken into custody for the drug violation, police said.
Police responded to the 400 block of Charles Street on Wednesday at 12:44 a.m. for a verbal dispute, Officer Sylvester Earle reported. Sharon L. Misiewicz of Coatesville, who was present in the residence, was found to have an active bench warrant and taken into custody.
Police patrolling the 700 block of East Lincoln Highway on Thursday at 12:35 a.m. observed “a highly intoxicated” individual attempting to gain access to a closed bar, Officer David Marquette reported. Demetrius Dixon of Coatesville was arrested and held until he ceased to be “a danger to himself and others,” police said.
Steven Amway, 57, of Coatesville, was served with a warrant at the Coatesville Police Station on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., said Officer Brenden M. Boyle. The warrant stemmed from a previous incident in which he allegedly violated a protection-from-abuse order, police said, adding that Amway was arraigned and remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post bail.
Coatesville officers were dispatched by county radio to the 400 block of East Lincoln Highway on Wednesday at 1:03 p.m. for a report of a stolen vehicle, Officer Brenden M. Boyle reported. A Parkesburg woman said that she had loaned her white 2012 Ford Edge to Mark Kennedy on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and that he had not returned the vehicle and ceased communicating with her, police said. Kennedy, 55, of Downingtown, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and related offenses, police said.
