Police issue reminder to lock unattended vehicles

 Car left running was reported stolen Wednesday at community center

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERALock unattended vehicles. Police are issuing that reminder after a 1995 white Toyota Tercel was reported stolen from the parking lot of the Coatesville Community Center on North Ninth Avenue Wednesday, said Officer Carmen Mollichella.

The vehicle, bearing Pa. registration JFM3515, has tinted windows and non-matching hubcaps, police said. The owner said he had left the vehicle running, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call the police station at 610-384-2300.

Officer Jonathan Shave responded to a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday at 1:41 p.m. at East Lincoln Highway and North First Avenue, police said.  Terrence Jackson, 46, of Cape May, Ct., was operating a Chevrolet Malibu that rear-ended an Oldsmobile Cutless Sierra driven by a 39-year-old Georgia resident, who was transported to Brandywine Hospital for a head injury, police said. All occupants were wearing seatbelts, police said, adding that  Jackson was cited for following too closely.

On April 8, at approximately 9 a.m., police assisted  state constables in a warrant service in the 400 block of Glendale Avenue, Officer Chris McCarthy reported. Brian J. Milbourne, 24, of Coatesville, whose history included one criminal warrant and several summary warrants, was taken into custody, police said.

Officer Jonathan Shave responded to the 100 block of Harlan Drive for a disturbance on Wednesday at 8:35 p.m., police said. Upon arrival contact, he made contact with Leslie Bookman, 42, and Melissa Bookman, 35, who were arguing with each other, police said. During the disagreement, Leslie Bookman broke a laptop computer valued at $450 and was cited for criminal mischief; both were cited for harassment, police said.

A traffic stop at 2:38 a.m. on April 10 led to driving under the influence charges, state police from the Embreeville barracks reported on Thursday. Police said Jennifer Rebecca Pennington, 31, of Coatesville, was stopped on Business Rt. 30, west of Broad Street in Caln Township and determined to be impaired behind the wheel, police said.

A 26-year-old Chester Springs man was stopped on Rt. 322 at Old Horseshoe Pike in Caln Township for an expired inspection sticker on April 4 at 11:27 a.m., state police said. Marc J. Walton was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and  possession of a controlled substance, police said.
