Complainant said grandson sustained injuries from one of animals

Image 2Officer Carmen Mollichella responded to a complaint Thursday regarding loose dogs in the 100 block of Wesley Lane at 9:33 p.m., police said. A woman told police that her children were playing in the back yard when dogs owned by Melissa Tippery, 46, of Coatesville, came running into the area without leashes.

The woman said her grandson sustained scratches and a red mark on his leg from an attack by one of the dogs, police said. A citation for violating the city’s ordinance against loose dogs was mailed to Tippery, police said.

Police were dispatched Thursday at 8:05 p.m. to the unit block of South Chester Avenue for a complaint regarding a protection-from-abuse violation, Officer Paul Antonucci reported. The victim said Steven Pittman, 37, of Chester, had been repeatedly calling and texting her cell phone, a direct violation of the PFA, police said. A warrant was issued for Pittman’s arrest, police said.

Officer Jonathan Shave conducted a traffic stop for failure to stop at a red light, at which time contact was made with Africa Jackson, 38, of Coatesville, police said. Jackson was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended license and found in possession of a small amount of marijuana, police said. She was arrested, processed and released on a summons, police said.
